Wet wet wet
(Posing on a mountain bridge in Sächsische Schweiz (near Bad Schandau / Dresden), Germany)
I shall celebrate my triumphant return to Scotland and dear green Glasgow with this image. Well, at present it is less green than deep grey and glittering with heavy rainfall. Usually I cannot hear traffic in my room but tonight there is the faraway sound of cars ripping standing water off the tarmac and the occasional thunder of a single vehicle on the street outside. They sound more like speedboats tonight than cars.
Although taken a month ago in South West Germany, the weather in this photograph is remarkably similar to what Glasgow is experiencing right now. It is touching that after a total of twenty five days in London – where I recall it rained only twice – that upon my chilly return to Scotland, the autumnal waterworks are turned on full blast.
I’m still quite unwell, so I’ll sign off – if you hear nothing from me tomorrow, I’ve just probably got wrapped up in the Hallowe’en weekend, or I’m still abed!
