Splitting sun
(Bus shelter roof: Shanghai)
This is a surprise shot; it is the underside of a bus shelter roof in Shanghai. The sunlight must have contracted and creased the paint or plastic surface, allowing cracks of light through, like molten lava through rock. In the sun, heat and pollution here, everything begins to lose its lustre. Even our once sparkling new bikes have a grey, dusty residue coat already.

You could tell a hundred fairy tales from all the figures in the pattern. This is how nature can make industrial things beautiful
