Space for Lent
(Our pre-Lent picture of the day: Glasgow, Scotland)
Although Lent is in full swing now, this piece of artwork has been gracing our kitchen in the flat for some weeks now. Take a look at our beautiful relief wallpaper. I think it’s holding our walls up. It was originally ‘Advent picture of the day’, depicting an image of a man on a ladder, placing a star atop a Christmas tree. Tommy has rubbed out the tree and the ‘Adv’ of Advent, changing it to Lent. The tree has been replaced with what we must assume is the Easter Bunny. I’m not entirely sure if this is a genuine pre-Lenten scene, but it made me laugh when I spotted it the other day. I’m excited to see if the ‘Lent Picture of the Day’ will evolve – perhaps I should be the one to instigate it.
To update you on the OxFem night, we blasted our target of £1500 with a final total well over £2000! It was a great night and everybody seemed thrilled with the general atmosphere and proceedings. Hopefully pictures will be on the way soon – I unfortunately had absolutely no chance to take any photographs as I was working far too hard as a volunteer organiser. More news from me soon.
