Soft and strong

(Trongate Tesco soft drinks aisle: Glasgow, Scotland)

There are some occasions when I think everyone chooses their country, town or city and says, “only in…. wherever.” That was what I exclaimed when I went in to a small supermarket to buy a bottle of wine the other day. Surely, only in Glasgow could I find the chilled wines in the soft drink section. Now, my definition of a soft would be that it is certainly non-alcoholic, yet the only beverages available in that section were wines and beers. It’s amazing that anyone is sober, really.

It isn’t a particularly well-taken photograph but I’m sure you can excuse that fact, given that I was dodging other ‘soft drinks shoppers’ with my lens as I don’t want to get into trouble. I’ll be back on track now after a frantic weekend of constant activity; I’m using up my hours in the sun in case these are the best or only ones I see for the entire summer. I don’t think I can be too careful as I need my vitamin D.
