Sky ship
(View over to Marina Bay Sands near the Esplanade: Singapore)
Today is my very last day in Asia for the foreseeable future. I have just gotten used to the humid weather, the intense, almost corrosive sunlight and the delicious, exotic array of foods. I will miss all of them by the time I am folded onto my flight tonight. I have had such fun here and I have felt so much a part of another family, so completely included and welcomed, that it will be strange returning to a less bustling flat in Glasgow. It is with a touch of sorrow that I will leave here later – it has been a great adventure and I haven’t even shared a fraction of what I have seen and experienced here yet – I just need to find the time to express it. I’ll be back in Glasgow by lunchtime tomorrow (Wednesday GMT) but don’t expect an update too swiftly. I have the nagging suspicion that a shower, food and a nap await me on my return.
Last night we walked along the former pier near the Esplanade – I thought you might like to see the arresting view from the water’s edge by night. I’ll explain properly what all of the buildings are another time, but you might recognise ‘Marina Bay Sands’, the new Casino hotel (it is the one that looks like a cruise ship on stilts) and the lotus flower construction is a planned art gallery. You might even recognise the symbol of Singapore – the Merlion. He is spraying water from his mouth to the right of this picture. I have to run now, but more soon, I promise.
– Today Rosie is enjoying her final day in Singapore –

A very beautiful picture indeed.
Teehee! Thanks!
Haha..Oh…
You blew the highlights
Anyways, is that sky ship fairly new? I don’t remember it being there when i was round…
Totally new – it was still in construction last year when I visited. Crazy, huh?
So amazing!!!
