(Ying and his sister on the skyride: Sentosa, Singapore)

On our day out to Sentosa with his sister, Ying and I decided a good idea would be to race go-karts down a hill. There are so many diversions on Sentosa that we could have chosen; riding on Segways, a boat trip, monorail, sunbathe, butterfly farm, miniature zoos… but this was the choice of the day. Sentosa appears to be a day tripper’s paradise from Singapore – it contains more holiday silliness than all the other parts of Singapore put together.

In order to make the most of the hillside karts, we had to travel on the skyride system (a sort of ski lift) to get to the top each time – here we all are. Much to your relief, I must add that the helmets were for the karts, not for our safety on the skyride. This is Ying with his sister and I am the photographer reflected in their sunglasses.
