Photo opportunity

Any remote excuse for a photograph and many Chinese (and Asians in general) seem to grasp it firmly with both hands. This is a superb example of a failed attempt to create a beautiful shot of a child in front of towering Pudong. I saw this pair when I was on the way to the huge hundred-storey finance centre with its cloudy observation deck. I think what I like most is the expression of resignation on the little girls face, her cheeks containing an exasperated sigh and her curling fingers, her little peace signs wilting with indifference.
