(Pei pa koa instructions: Singapore / UK)
You might already know that I’m one of the world’s biggest Pei Pa Koa fanatics, http://china.analoguegirl.co.uk/pei-pa-koa/ believing it to be a complete cure for any ailment. I thought I’d illustrate how wonderful the product is in its entirety. These are the folded paper instructions you can find inside the box. Funnily enough, the bottles I have bought in China have no such thing, merely a list of ailments and ingredients. For foreigners in Singapore and the UK at least, they make an effort to ensure the properties of this medicine are well communicated.
As you can (possibly) just make out, it is anticipated that one may make use of Pei Pa Koa for myriad reasons, some of them obscure. For instance, “Prevent loss of voice in people whose voice is their livelihood”. See! I’m not making it up, this tonic is for anyone with an obscure issue that no other medical product can tackle. “Effects of excessive smoking and drinking”, another fine reason to top up on your stocks of Pei Pa Koa now.
During these past couple of weeks with a dry, sore throat (caused in some part by air conditioning), I have been taking this medicine, but bolstering my body’s ‘cool’ness (rather than heatiness) by also drinking Wang’s red can tea. I heard that many people drink this before a night of ‘excessive smoking and drinking’ or prior to a spicy or ‘heaty’ meal so they may balance their bodies as insurance. Perhaps not the best use of these products, but they’re both sweet and tasty – I use them whenever I can.

You have to bring me some of this ‘Magic Medicine’ Rosie! XX
