Golden corner
(Corner of a sunny courtyard in the Humble Administrators Garden: Suzhou, China)
I took a mountain of photographs in this garden simply because the opportunities presented themselves. This is one of the moss shadowed, lime washed walls that allowed the garden to have a structure of some kind. The afternoon light bathed all pale surfaces in gold and it was beautiful. The combination of pale wall, mossy green creeping up like a tide and the foliage dappled light made for one of the best garden corners I’ve ever seen. The trees are sparsely dotted about in the courtyards, sometimes there is but a single one, erect in the centre, providing a point of focus. More often, there are a couple of them, shuffled together and dancing gently in the afternoon breeze.
*pipless jam and I are in London at present with long working hours and limited internet. So I’ve put up two post tonight to attempt to make up for my week long absence. Excuses excuses…

I love this shot!!
