Feeling chipper
(End of the ‘All of the Above’ exhibition opening: Edinburgh UK)
Phewf. It’s been another long day, lengthened by two bus trips and long trudges both ways to and from the exhibition. I’ve decided to stay in Edinburgh for almost the entire duration of the exhibition since travel is so treacherously taxing. The disused shop looks so much better now that we have hung all our work.
Here are Robbie and Anna, two of my three fellow compatriots in the exhibition. Considering the horrendous conditions, the opening was well attended by mainly locals – unfortunately none of the Glasgow contingent made it through the snow drifts, but I cannot blame them. Had I planned to attend an event in another city this week (that wasn’t my own) then I would have sneaked out of it too.
This is the end of night fast food run in the shop – Robbie is munching the classic sausage supper and Anna and I opted to share ‘chips and sauce’. The sauce was only referred to as that, nothing more, no flavour was hinted at. After it had been offered, I simply replied “er… yes?” Sauce seems to consist of HP brown sauce and vinegar mixed in approximately equal measure. Not high cuisine, but it did the warming job it was supposed to do. The shop had been extremely cold during the entire setup procedure – Anna had informed me that the heater did not work. Tonight I gave it some attention and noted that the reason it wasn’t hot was that the plug was not connected to the electricity socket. After plugging it in, the exhibition warmed up a treat.
– Today Rosie is manning the exhibition in Edinburgh, UK –
