Dusky rose
(Dusk from Rose Street: Glasgow, Scotland)
Sometimes I don’t allow myself to spend as long as I would like writing. Today has been a very busy day, what with making travel arrangements for my impending holiday to Asia, as well as attempting to work for two companies in the same day, it is proving to be a long week already! I thought I would show you what dusk looks like from the end of my block. The wonderful thing about Glasgow’s grid system of building is that around each corner is a horizon. Alright, it’s not quite as romantic as that, but in a way, you’re witnessing that in this image.
The well-lit golden buildings on the hill puzzled me for ages when I first moved here, but now I know that they are the wharves, shoved up next to the canal. The canals and their locks are rather out of the way, but they are quite lovely for dog walking and strolls. I once went up there with a friend when it had snowed heavily and the entire area was untouched and under a full foot of snow. It is another world up there, teeming with birds, foxes and unfamiliar views.
