Stop thief
(Sign on Stoke Newington High Street: London, UK)
Just a very quick post today as I’m exhausted from a very late Friday night and from this evening’s arduous ‘moving house’ from North East London’s Stokey to Haverstock Hill on the outskirts of Camden. It was a non-day of tidying and packing up in one generously offered home to reach another.
Anyway, I spotted this as I was exploring the other day – it’s a very terse, emotive warning from a victim of crime and I stopped because it was so interesting; the underlining and bold type, the tone of the warning and the subtleties they bring out. It moves from an advisory statement to caution and although it looks like a quick job, I reckon the wheel-less target spent some time on it. It was a more personal and discursive London (albeit a slightly crime filled one) that I discovered that day. The tube prevents me from finding these street gems so sometimes it’s more interesting to wander almost aimlessly without stringent time limits for a change.
– Today Rosie is doing laundry and figuring out how to tackle next week –
